Performance

DBU's GUI was developed using Java. The product operates on Microsoft Windows or any operating system with a compliant java virtual machine. Using a TCP/IP connection, DBU information from the database is presented through the graphical user interface. This GUI offers explorer-like features for the System i AS/400 file systems and allows users to maneuver the screen with the mouse or keyboard via buttons and tab panels.

DBU also features a System i Operations Navigator database node with the utility 'plugged-in' to IBM's graphical operations interface. This combination can simplify the process of operations management and the display of library and file information.
