DBU vs. DFU . . . no comparison!

You have instant access to your files with all options available at all times.   To access a file you must go through multiple steps to create a DFU program or use the fast path access, which gives you no options.

Data base relations can be displayed showing all logicals related to the current physical/logical and a new file can be selected immediately for access.

All functions can be changed within a DBU session.  

The DFU program is very static, in order to change any parameters or file presentation, etc., the DFU application has to be recreated.

Has extremely flexible search and replace/delete function.   Has no search and replace/delete function.
Has a reactivate deleted record mode to display the data in the deleted records and an option to reactivate the record in place.   No ability to find or reactivate a deleted record.
Extensive built in security to control access.   No security to control access, separate programs have to be written.

Can move to the top or bottom of the file, go to a specific RRN, move forward or backward a requested number of records, etc.
